Six Decades of 007: Bond of the 1980s 2025 1oz Silver Coin

The Bond of the 1980s Silver 1oz coin is third in a six-part Royal Mint limited series celebrating the world renowned British spy James Bond. Struck in 999 fineness 24 carat silver, commemorating each decade of 007. The coins will come in a Royal Mint tube if containing quantities of 25 each. Limited to just 100,000 coins.

Each coin in the series will represent the Bond films best known from that particular decade. The iconic period of the 1980s, shaped by Roger Moore’s suave charisma and Timothy Dalton’s tougher portrayal of 007, bringing some of the most memorable moments, intense action, and classic soundtracks to the Bond franchise.

The decade offered a unique mix—from the witty, light-hearted tone of early films to the grittier, more serious approach in later ones. To celebrate this remarkable chapter of Bond history, we present the third bullion coin in the Six Decades of 007 collection, featuring the iconic Bede BD-5J ‘Acrostar’ microjet from the unforgettable opening scene of Octopussy.

Available in fine gold and silver with special finishes, this collectible coin not only serves as a timeless investment but also offers a direct connection to the legendary world of 007. Ideal for both collectors and investors, it’s your chance to own a piece of Bond history.

The obverse of the coin features the now familiar official coinage portrait of King Charles III, as depicted by designer Martin Jennings. While the reverse is designed by Matt Dent and Christian Davies.

Each of the six coins will be produced in both 999.9 purity gold and 999 purity silver versions. Coins are fully licensed products in partnership with EON Productions Limited and Danjaq.

Like the 1oz Britannia silver coin, the Gold James Bond coins boast a £2 face value, qualifying them as Capital Gains Tax free. For this reason and it’s relative scarcity, we expect this silver coin to be a very popular investment choice.
